Advanced treatment for hemorrhoids using infrared coagulation Studies have shown that more than 10 million people visit their physician to consult some hemorrhoid symptoms. Three out of four people have the tendency to develop hemorrhoids in their lives. People are usually scared in consulting their doctors with this kind of problem because hemorrhoids are often associated with painful surgery. But believe it or not, only a small percentage of patients require surgery for their hemorrhoids. And there are now new developments that would help ease your sufferings the fast and pain-free way.

Hemorrhoids are caused by so many factors. They say that this kind of condition is mostly prevalent to people who either sit or stand for long hours or those who have low fiber diets or poor bowel habits. But when treated at the early stage, hemorrhoids usually disappear in just a week or two. Increasing fiber and fluids in your diet will help soften the stool hence you won’t have problems with bowel movements. It would also be a good idea that you stay away from excessive straining and take warm baths.

However, painful external hemorrhoids need a more advanced treatment. If you want to ease your pain and avoid further sufferings, then you can try this new innovation in treating hemorrhoid. The Infrared Coagulation or the IRC is now considered as the most widely used office treatment for hemorrhoids. It also shows that this kind of treatment is preferred by many because it is fast and effective. The very purpose of IRC is to create a scar tissue in order to cut off the blood supply to the hemorrhoid hence it causes the hemorrhoids to die off.

During the IRC procedure, the doctor uses a device that would create an intense beam of infrared light. The heat created by said light will cause the scar tissue and forms on the wall of the anal canal. This will hold the proximate veins in place so they do not bulge into the anal canal. Only one hemorrhoid can be treated at a time and the other hemorrhoids can be treated at a 10-14-day interval.

Infrared coagulation is mostly done in the doctor’s office and the patient may feel heat and pain during the course of the procedure. Sensation of fullness in the lower abdomen or the need to have a bowel movement can also be felt after the treatment. Other devices can also be used in infrared coagulation such as laser or electrical current. These two are also capable of cutting off the hemorrhoid’s blood supply.

However, the success of the treatment usually depends on the doctor’s expertise and ones ability to change his bowel habits. Also, this procedure is quite expensive hence not everyone who suffers from hemorrhoid can avail of it. And lastly, not all doctors have the experience or are equipped with the needed equipment in the infrared coagulation treatment.

Given now the pros and cons of this procedure, it is up to you to decide which type of hemorrhoid treatment would work best for your condition. Consult your doctor now so you can be immediately relieved of your hemorrhoid sufferings.
