With the kind of technology we have today, everything seems possible and can be achieved in just a snap. There are now revolutionary medical advances that would help us treat our medical conditions without encountering any hassles. Like any other health cases, the treatment for hemorrhoids also provides different alternatives or methods on how you can get rid of them effectively and quickly. One of the most highly recommended surgeries in this condition is known as hemorrhoidolysis.
This is actually a non-invasive procedure that helps in the shrinking of hemorrhoids through the use of an electrical current that is manually applied to the actual area of inflammation using a tool known as electrode or small probe.
This electrode is responsible for transmitting low-grade electrical current into the hemorrhoid and later on causes a chemical reaction in the tissue. What causes hemorrhoid to shrink is when the tissue at the affected area undergoes chemical reaction and eventually alleviates the condition and together with its symptoms.
Hemorrhoidolysis is considered as a relatively new procedure when it comes to hemorrhoid treatment. However, it is now known as the most successful when it comes to resolving internal hemorrhoids. The best thing about hemorrhoidolysis is that it is painless and can be done even without anesthesia in just a short period of time. Also, this procedure can even be performed at the office of a health care provider.
Complications are also virtually non-existent because there are rarely reported side effects like bleeding or swelling. Hemorrhoidolysis is often performed on an outpatient basis hence you don’t have to stay at the hospital after the procedure and return to work or home the very same day. This is not the case when you opt for surgical procedures.
Hemorrhoidolysis is commonly employed in treating internal hemorrhoids. The theory upon which electrotherapy is based has a rich history of successful use by sports doctors and physical therapists for treating soft-tissue conditions like muscle spasms or atrophy. In most cases, a doctor can manually treat one hemorrhoid at a time, over what averages out to be three to four visits. Since this procedure is non-invasive and offers few complications, it is well-known to many hemorrhoid sufferers who want to prevent all the possible side effects and long recovery time associated with other kinds of hemorrhoid procedure.
Aside from hemorrhoidolysis, lifestyle changes must also be observed in order to ensure long-term resolution of hemorrhoids and its symptoms. Some of the changes you need to alter include diet, exercise, and bowel habits. Given the success rate of the hemorrhoid treatment procedure, doctors and patients alike would have no negative things to say at hemorrhoidolysis.

Hemorrhoids has two major classifications, it may be an internal or external hemorrhoid. For some individuals who may suffer from both internal and external hemorrhoids the term mixed hemorrhoids is used. Treatment for the mild cases for these hemorrhoids may be similar but for chronic condition they have to be treated differently. Sometimes hemorrhoids may not even show symptoms and it is only discovered when required to undergo physical and laboratory exams. There are also some people who are ashamed to talk about their condition so the diagnosis of the disease is only made when it is already worst.
People should understand that hemorrhoids like the internal one have different stages or grade levels. This is used by doctors as the basis on what kind of treatment they should give to the patient. Just like in other diseases, the approaches or treatment varies at the different levels. Those who are having a mild case, it can be treated with over the counter medications or herbal preparations. Severe cases needs hospitalization and surgery.
Treatment for external hemorrhoids may range from simple and common treatment to surgical excision. The surgery should be carefully done to avoid recurrence and other complications. For thrombosed hemorrhoids, the surgical procedure can be done through incision and excision. New methods of surgery are now available which promises higher success rate and fewer side effects or complications. Your doctor should be able to discuss these options to you if you are advised to undergo surgical removal of your hemorrhoids.
Internal hemorrhoid is more difficult to diagnose. It is usually noticed if the symptoms are already prevalent like when there is blood in stool, pain and irritation in the rectal area. Various treatments for internal hemorrhoids include rubber band ligation, infrared coagulation, radiofrequency treatment, injection sclerotherapy and surgical excision or laser treatment. But again, the type of treatment depends on the grade level of the hemorrhoid.
The grade levels for internal hemorrhoids range from Grade Level I to Grade Level IV depending on the severity of the prolapsed hemorrhoids. Grade I internal hemorrhoids shows little symptoms and only bulge during defecation. When the prolapsed hemorrhoid is caused by defecation but the lesions recede naturally, it is classified as Grade II. If the hemorrhoids can be digitally replaced after prolapsing, the patient is now having a Grade Level III internal hemorrhoid. Other symptoms may also appear in this grade level.
The last stage is the most severe condition of prolapsed hemorrhoids where surgical treatment is already needed. The hemorrhoids can’t be replaced anymore once they become prolapsed. Pain and irritation of the hemorroidal tissues are common. Bleeding may also happen. Treatment of herbal medications or over the counter creams may not cure the hemorrhoids in this stage. The simplest treatment that can be done for prolapsed hemorrhoids is using infrared coagulation while rubber band ligation is the least expensive. There are other procedures which are expensive but also offers faster recovery rate and more effective.
