Golden seal herb is effective in treating inflammed hemorrhoids The common symptom of hemorrhoid is inflammation. When the rectal veins become too weak and constipation is more frequent, these veins swell and extreme pain follows. This can be cured with over the counter pain relievers but the effect is only temporary. Most of the times it will recur and you will experience the same situation again.

Again, natural remedies are another good option in alleviating this symptom. With so many herbs available in the market, many people are still unaware that Golden Seal plays a major role in the treatment of hemorrhoids. This herb is also referred to as a cure all herb by many herbalists.

It has many health benefits especially in the treatment of various diseases in the respiratory, digestive, genito-urinary, circulatory and nervous system. The herb can be used as a mouthwash and treats throat infections. The golden seal herb is also effective in treating skin infections which include eczema and ringworm. Some people also use the herb to reduce eye inflammation.

The Golden Seal is also known as Indian turmeric, yellow root, orange root and eye root. It is native to North America but its use as a herbal medicine already spread worldwide. The traditional preparation of Golden seal is by infusions, compresses, or ointment and salves. It is also available in capsule form. The roots and leaves are used in these herbal preparations.

Since the Golden seal has anti-inflammatory properties it is very effective in treating hemorrhoid problems. Aside from reducing the swelling, it stops internal bleeding. People with hemorrhoids can take the golden seal as a tea or it can be applied directly into the affected area to shrink hemorrhoid and alleviate pain. However, some people may not like this herb because of its bitter taste.

Unlike other herbs, Golden seal can be used to treat both internal and external hemorrhoids. Its healing properties can be maximized if it will be mixed with other herbs like white oak bark and aloe vera. If you want to use this herb in reducing the swelling, use 1 capsule of golden seal together with 1 capsule of white oak bark. Put the contents of the capsules into a plate and mix it thoroughly. Put a small amount of aloe vera gel to make a paste. Put the mixture onto the hemorrhoids and leave it overnight. You will be amazed on the improvement of hemorrhoids.

However, a word of caution, Golden seal root is not recommended for pregnant women. If you are taking other medications, please consult your doctor. This herb is effective in lowering insulin level in the body so ask your doctor first before taking Golden seal especially when it is used as a tea or taken in tablet of capsule form.
