New Two-Hour Piles Treatment Offers Quick Recovery

Published by admin under Health Information

A new non-invasive piles treatment offers quick recovery from hemorrhoids Piles are usually treated with surgery. However, the main problem with this treatment procedure is that it is usually very painful. This is not to mention yet that it is very expensive and inconvenient for a lot of patients. Imagine, the pain brought about by the treatment does not conclude in the end of the actual surgical procedure. The pain continues for several weeks until the wound from the surgery heals.

The good news for a lot of people suffering from piles these days is that there is a new discovery when it comes to piles treatment that do not employ the use of painful surgery. This procedure is known as the Video Assisted and Fistula Treatment (VAAFT).

What is VAAFT?

Doctors from Delhi and Italy have jointly discovered a state-of-the-art procedure that opens a way for piles to be treated quickly and painlessly. Patients can now be cured using this procedure, allowing them to go home within two hours only. This is a painless technique that will not leave behind any kind of surgical wound on the buttocks of the patients. More importantly, this treatment procedure will not damage the anal sphincters.

The VAAFT involves no operative examination and no medication after the procedure. This can even not qualify as a surgical procedure because it requires no dressing after the treatment. This technique can be credited to Dr. Pradeep Chowbey of Max Hospital.

Dr. Chowbey said that today, treating piles is already a day-care procedure. It no longer involves long medications but offers a guaranteed early recovery. The VAAFT goes to the fistula through the skin and then projects an image from inside the body, appearing on the monitor screens that are attended by the doctors. Then, the doctors destroy the sides of the tube by burning it with the help of an electric current. A gel is then applied to block the fistula around two hours later to end the procedure. At this point, the patient can already go home and do not have to worry about nursing any kind of pain.

VAAFT versus Traditional Piles Surgeries

Previous surgeries to treat piles usually remove the entire anal tissue. This is a very painful procedure and even leaves a wound that can take a lot of time to heal completely. If five percent of the entire adult population is suffering from piles and fistulas, it means that a lot of people wait for several months of healing and dressing in relation with the treatment of their condition. This kind of inconvenient and painful procedure is eliminated in this new piles treatment discovery. It provides a better experience in the treatment of the disease not only for the patients but also for the medical professionals.

Basically, the VAAFT is a new tool that goes inside and burns the disease completely. As compared to the traditional surgical process, there are lesser chances that the recurrence of piles can take place. As per data, the recurrence rate of piles or fistulas using the traditional process is 20 to 40 percent.

Treats Piles Quick

With the introduction of VAAFT, piles are no longer a problem these days. By eliminating painful and inconvenient treatment procedures, it stands out to be one of the best discoveries these days. However, patients still need to consult their doctors if they should avail this treatment. In some cases, piles can be treated with over the counter medications such as hemroid creams.
